We’d like to share a family favourite recipe with you, and one which has a little story behind it too.My husband David is from a well known Cumbrian farming family and the women in the family have the reputation of being excellent cooks (his maternal grandmother co-wrote cookery books). My own paternal grandmother, whom I owe my love of cooking to, was also a great cook. It came up in conversation once or twice during our courtship (what a lovely old fashioned word that is) that their family gingerbread recipe always won the competitions at the agricultural shows and that it could not be beaten. Having always made my own grandma’s recipe, and being particularly loyal, I believed that our family recipe would be better.
Our Story
The Country Puddings’ story began almost 12 years ago when we started making traditional puddings from our farmhouse kitchen. Word soon spread and the Country Puddings brand has continued to grow, creating puddings of excellent quality made using the finest ingredients.
